I won’t be a part of this whole ‘Benedict was robbed’-type mentality. Yes, he deserved to win the BAFTA, but so did all of the other nominees - that’s why they were nominated. This obviously just wasn’t his year, and it’s unfair to say that Dominic West didn’t deserve the BAFTA when he was playing an incredibly challenging and demanding role.
It’s disappointing that the person we were all rooting for didn’t win, but that doesn’t mean that the person who won didn’t deserve it.
Let’s be classy about this one, guys. Trite as it may be - it’s what Benedict would want.
